Monthly Writing Contest Has Begun!

I have started a Monthly Writing Contest on Word Wings! {The main site.}

The August competition has already begun. It will end at the end of the month - August 31. Be sure to submit your entries as soon as you can!

There are two categories - Poetry and Prose. There are different guidelines for each and they're on the Monthly Writing Contest page. Make sure you read all the rules for each category, just in case! The most important rule is that you can only submit one entry per category.

And when you decide to submit your entry, send it to moonways@yahoo.co.uk. There are instructions for that on the same page, plus a form for your information and your entry's information. Only send one entry per email!

Two people will win - one in the Poetry category and one in the Prose category. If you win, your submission will be displayed on the Monthly Writing Contest page for one month, until the next contest ends. Then the new winners will be put up, the new contest will start, and so on.

hmm...do you think its a good idea to host a writing contest at the moment? That is, if the contest is between members, there wont be(if any) competition at all. Perhaps, if you promote this contest to big poetry communities you'll get some people interested.

As for the reward, since your website isnt as recognized as other writing websites, the fact that the winning entries will be displayed in the website wont encourage many to put the time and effort to make an entry.

Yeah, I figured that most people wouldn't be interested... But I might advertise it on my other website, just in case.
